Are you a caffeine lover?

Do you require a generous amount just to get your mind kick started each and every morning?

We caffeine junkies are an interesting breed.

We’ll go to great lengths to make sure we get the caffeine we need throughout the day, but we like our caffeine to taste great, too.

Whether it’s gourmet coffee or hi-rev cookies, most of us have a little schedule that we follow each day.

After a while, it can become a little boring drinking the same coffee and eating the same things all the time.

That’s why I decided to put together this list of ten great recipes that will help you get your caffeine in some of the best tasting ways possible.

Whether it’s food, drink, snack, or dessert, you can get your caffeine from many sources other than coffee and energy drinks.

Here are ten fabulous caffeine recipes you really need to try:

Caffeine Breakfast

1) Oatmeal Breakfast Loaf

Ingredients

1 cup of coffee

5 ⅓ cup of flour

1 tsp. salt

4 tsp. yeast

⅓ cup honey

2 eggs

½ cup oatmeal

1 cup milk

6 tbsp. butter

In a small pan combine ⅓ cup flour and your cup of coffee.  Simmer stirring frequently until the mixture thickens like a gravy.  Remove from heat and set aside.  Combine the salt, yeast, and remaining flour in a mixing bowl.  In a separate bowl, combine wet ingredients and mix extremely well.  When mixed, pour into the bowl with the dry ingredients.  Make sure all of your ingredients have been added, and mix well until you can knead your dough.  Let dough rise for 45 minutes then divide into three portions.  Roll out one portion flat and roll into a tube.  Let sit for 50 minutes, then bake this tube at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.  Remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes.  Serve warm with butter.  Makes three loaves.

2) Berry Breakfast Bars

Ingredients

8 oz. yogurt with berries in the bottom

1 ½ tbsp. Instant coffee

1 ½ tsp. Vanilla extract

⅓ cup flour

1 ½ cup rolled oats

1 tsp. Cinnamon

½ tsp. Baking powder

⅓ cup dried cranberries

⅓ cup chopped almonds

3 tbsp. Sweet flaked coconut

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Combine yogurt, vanilla, and coffee and mix until smooth.  Fold in oats, then add flour, cinnamon, and baking powder.  Add almonds and cranberries and stir batter well.  Spread coconut into a layer in the bottom of a 9x13” baking dish, then bake for about 4 minutes.  Pour the batter mixture on top of the coconut layer, and bake for 15-18 minutes.  Remove and let cool, then cut into twelve portions.

3) Raw Vegan Espresso Brownies

Ingredients

¾ cup walnuts

½ cup almonds

1 tsp. Vanilla extract

1 ¼ packed cup pitted dates

1 tbsp. Instant coffee

½ cup unsweetened cocoa

1 pinch sea salt

Chop your walnuts and almonds in a food processor and remove to a bowl.  Add your dates to the food processor and chop well.  Put the nuts and all of the other ingredients into the food processor and mix all of the ingredients together.  Place your mixture into a pan lined with wax paper and press the mixture firmly into the bottom.  Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes, then cut out brownie squares sized to your liking.  Enjoy!

4) Coffee Fig Smoothie Cups

1 cup greek yogurt, plain

2 bananas

1 cup dried figs

¼ cup cocoa powder

1 cup cashews

¼ tsp. Cardamom

2 cups brewed coffee
